Implant restorations can be tough. Restoring a fully edentulous patient for implant rehabilitation can be a very complicated matter. Certainly from a dental technician’s perspective it can be a daunting task (you can see pictures of the complexity of these types of cases in this gallery and here).
International lecturer Dr. Harel Simon has been restoring and lecturing about this kind of implant restoration since his postgraduate work at UCLA. He has developed a combination of courses encompassing both lecture and hands on instruction that work together to educate dentists in this growing and challenging area of dentistry. In the courses, he shows evaluation, treatment sequences, variations in final restorations and complications of various actual cases in these lectures. The practical component focuses on the critical step of converting a complete denture into a fixed implant provisional restoration in one visit.
It was my pleasure to be added to the faculty to assist in the hands on portion of the course along with Take Katayama CDT from Dentech, Dr Sheryl Regalado DMD, Dr Joseph Field DMD and Alain Toca. Here are some pictures from the course.
For anyone who may be interested in attending one of Dr Simon’s courses, you can find more information and contact him here:
