Just a few words... OK, maybe more than a few
Wednesday, February 13, 2008
Well, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything so sorry if you have been waiting for the latest news in NLDD. Not that there hasn’t been a lot happening, but quite the opposite! I’ll briefly fill you in:
Procera scanner is up and running. Many of you know I was fortunate enough to be one of the first technicians to be trained on this remarkable system when it was first introduced in Canada in 1994. Mike Girard and his lab hosted the event with Momo doing the training, while Dr Kupeyan. Paul & I took it all in. Can’t forget to mention Greg Harris for quarterbacking the whole event and bringing his characteristic wit & humor & expertise to the table.
Seems like going back to my roots, but it is a welcome change in the control & flexibility it now offers us. I spelled out some of the reasons I switched in my latest newsletter (I’m actually trying to figure a way to put it on my website so if you can’t get the Feb issue here you can always email me & I’ll send it on to you). My awesome Nobel Biocare rep Jake Thomasen has furnished me with lots of information that I’ll be passing on to you via the site soon.
What else is new? Well we are in the process of (finally) creating a labslip. Here is your chance to put in your ‘2 cents’ as to what you might like to see in it (or not see in it).
Is there any room for improvement? Sure. Could have gone a little heavier on surface texture, better halo & raise value a touch. Overall though the patient, dentist & technician are quite happy with the outcome (this was the day of tryin so the tissues weren’t happy with us).
